Vugar Tahirov is a filmmaker and producer from Baku, Azerbaijan. His filmmaking journey began with his early passion for Capoeira, a Brazilian martial art he started practicing at 13. Tahirov became a two-time Azerbaijani champion and a silver medalist. He represented Azerbaijan in the European Championship in Portugal in 2009 and competed in two World Championships in Brazil in 2010 and 2011. His experiences in Capoeira led him to work on fight scenes as a photographer, which sparked his interest in cinema and helped him develop skills as a camera operator and editor.

As a filmmaker, Tahirov has worked on a variety of projects. He has created animation short films like "The Shadowless People" (2022) and short films such as "Let Me Run" (2019). His documentary work includes "Mo Better" (2023) and the highly acclaimed "Sidewalk Stories" (2024). "Sidewalk Stories" explores homelessness in Easton, PA, and the efforts of a local church to help. The film has won Best Short Documentary at the Anatolian Film Awards, South Film and Arts Academy Festival, and Bangkok Movie Awards. It is also a finalist in several other film festivals.

In addition to directing, Tahirov has worked on feature films like "Don Marleone" (2017) and many music videos, taking on roles such as producer, writer, and cameraman. His dedication to independent filmmaking is clear through his company, which supports the growth of unique film projects.
